Delicious Bites At Disney Springs
Updated: Apr 24, 2022
Disney Springs is almost an attraction itself with amazing food, specialty shops like Lego and M&M and more!
Over here at the Happily Ever Emporium, one of our favorite things is FOOD.
"Good food is like music you can taste, color you can smell. There is excellence all around you.You need only to be aware to stop and savor it." - Chef Gusteau, Ratatouille
Gideon's Bakehouse
We took the bus from the Caribbean Beach Resort to Disney Springs and arrived around 10:30 AM. We promptly headed to Gideon's and good thing we did because the line was constantly growing. It seemed to stay a consistent 30-50 minute line the entire day. We were able to get to the door within 30 minutes. Now what's so amazing about Gideon's you might ask? I was just so enamored with their aesthetic. I love me some spooky vibes and Gideon's hits the nail on the head.
Look at the size of the cake slices! They were huge. We didn't stop for cake though, we stopped for their infamous cookies and I'm so glad we did. We both got their monthly special which was the Orange Chocolate Chip. I also tried the Original Chocolate Chip and the Pistachio Chocolate Chip. These cookies are $6 a piece and huge! I literally ate on them for two weeks! So worth it.
The Polite Pig
We wanted some lunch badly after walking around and shopping. We checked Amorette's because they advertised sandwiches and unfortunately, for some reason they weren't serving sandwiches. So to The Polite Pig we went.
I chose the three different appetizer combo so I could try a variety of things and I was not disappointed. The cauliflower on the left was amazing, the burnt ends chili in the middle was delicious and had just enough kick, and the street corn was bomb diggity!
While we were eating, it started to pour cats and dogs (typical Florida). So we pulled out our ponchos and headed over to Uniqlo.
I didn't take any pictures in Uniqlo because I was so busy shopping, but I am happy to report that I actually found some pants that fit! I have been struggling to find some pants that fit and have a bit of stretch and them and I found two pairs, a cute pair of skinny capris, and basic skinny jeans that fit just perfect! This almost made me happier than eating a Gideon's cookie because I have been looking for pants for so long! I said ALMOST. :)
For dinner we had reservations right at 5:00 pm for The Edison. I'm glad we had reservations at 5:00 because they sat us right in front of the stage, and we had the best seats in the house for watching the band play.
We had a Berry Smash for our beverage, the Calamari for an appetizer, Cassie got the Organic Tomato Soup and Gooey Grilled Cheese, and I had the Mahi. I wanted something a bit lighter with some veggies since we had a heavier lunch with the bbq. Everything was amazing. And you might be wondering $22.00 for grilled cheese?? Well, I would probably get that over the Mahi because it was that good. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Mahi, but on a rainy day like we had the Grilled Cheese was just mmmm *chef's kiss*.
The lighting was this pinkish orange fluorescent type so all of the food looked different in the lighting. Don't let it fool you though the food was delicious!
There were a few things we didn't get to try, and this was mainly due to the space in our stomachs and the amount of time in the day, but we plan on visiting the following places next time:
Amorette's
Everglazed
D-luxe Burger
Enzo's Hideaway
